Michelle Arrowsmith joins as QEH Executive Managing Director

Michelle Arrowsmith joined the Queen Elizabeth hospital as Executive Managing Director today (19 January).

She began her NHS career as a dietitian at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals and has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, both with allied health professionals and in wider operational management.

She’s held positions within the NHS as deputy chief executive, chief strategy and delivery officer and chief operating officer. She also has international experience, having worked in both Australia and New Zealand, and commissioning and charity experience.

“I plan to use my NHS and international leadership experiences to create a culture and environment to allow and encourage us to thrive and wish to build a learning environment for all,” she said. “This in turn will improve services for our community.

“I look forward to working with colleagues at the Queen Elizabeth and the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group. We must work collectively to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare for the people in our community.”
